Outpatient Mental Health Care near Carmel Valley and Del Mar

For adults 18 and older. Our office is in Sorrento Valley, a few miles south. Call (858) 567-4246.

Close enough that three mornings a week is realistic

We have one office, at 11230 Sorrento Valley Road, Suite 225. There is no Carmel Valley clinic and no Del Mar clinic — but from most of Carmel Valley you are about two miles away, from Del Mar Heights about three, and from the village about four. Straight-line, measured from our door; the drive is longer and depends on when you travel.

That proximity is the only thing that really matters on a page like this. Our Intensive Outpatient Program runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Three mornings a week is a commitment people make and keep when the drive is short, and quietly stop making when it is not.

From Carmel Valley and Del Mar Heights it is a couple of exits down the 5, or Del Mar Heights Road and Sorrento Valley Road if the freeway is backed up — which, being this stretch of the 5, it sometimes is.

The schedule

Why mornings, and who that suits

Groups run 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., which leaves the rest of the day intact.

  • After the school run

A 9:00 start is reachable from Carmel Valley and Del Mar Heights after a school drop-off, and noon is before pickup. For a parent, that is the difference between treatment being possible and being theoretical.

  • If you work in the corridor

A great many people in these neighborhoods already drive this direction for work — Sorrento Valley, Torrey Pines, the research and biotech offices along the 5. You are not adding a new commute, you are shortening one for three mornings.

  • Afternoons stay yours

Work, study, family and your own appointments carry on after noon. People in the program hold down jobs and finish degrees while they attend.

  • And if mornings do not work

Say so on the first call. There are no evening or weekend groups at the moment, and we would rather tell you that than have you discover it in week two. Individual therapy and medication management schedule separately.

What you would be coming for

Three services for adults 18 and older, built to work together:

We work with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, adjustment disorder, bipolar disorder and life transitions.

We do not provide substance use treatment, detox, eating disorder treatment, or residential and inpatient care, and we do not offer couples, family or child therapy. Where that is what is needed, we will provide appropriate referrals.

Questions

Getting here from Carmel Valley and Del Mar

Do you have an office in Carmel Valley or Del Mar?

No. We have one office, at 11230 Sorrento Valley Road, Suite 225, San Diego, CA 92121. Everything happens there.

How long does the drive take?

We are not going to print a number, because this stretch of the 5 makes a liar of any minute count twice a day. The honest version is the distance: about two miles from Carmel Valley, three from Del Mar Heights, four from the village. Check it for a 9:00 a.m. arrival on a weekday and you will know more than we can tell you.

Is there parking?

Yes — free parking on site, in the lot. Full directions and how to find Suite 225 are on our contact page.

Can I attend and still work?

That is what the schedule is built for. Groups run Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., which leaves afternoons clear. Whether a morning commitment three days a week fits your particular situation is worth talking through on the first call.

Do you take my insurance?

We verify your benefits during admissions, before your start date is set, and then walk you through what your plan covers, what it does not, and what your out-of-pocket costs look like. Start with our insurance verification form, or call us.
